Our three business segments – innovative services, technology & engineering, and manufacturing – consolidate and leverage the skills, competencies and experience of the KCA Deutag Group, with their established and respected land rig and oilfield equipment manufacturer – Bentec – and design and engineering specialists – RDS.

This collaboration, coupled with focused and disciplined investment in innovation and key partnerships, is helping new and existing customers across the globe benefit from the opportunities of the energy transition.

Energy markets are changing

Energy markets are changing, with greater demand for clean fuels, rising adoption of renewables and oilfield technology being reshaped by digitalisation and emissions reduction activities. We are playing a proactive role in these changes. Building on over 130 years of industry experience, we are innovating in services, technology and engineering and manufacturing to deliver customer-centric solutions in hydrocarbons and renewables.

Our Role in the Energy Transition

We are committed to playing an active role in the energy transition, investing in and delivering solutions through digitalisation, emissions control and clean fuel technologies.

Kenera drives collaboration between our services, engineering, design, technology and manufacturing teams and stimulates focused investment in innovation and key partnerships with customers and select third parties in the renewables chain. This helps us create value for our colleagues, customers, investors and the communities where we work.

We are working to reduce emissions, explore energy solutions and innovate in the renewables space.


Our FX-Control system allows for the remote control and monitoring of drilling operations – combining our software solutions on a single user platform.

Our +veDRILL TurnRight software seeks to optimise drilling performance by allowing efficient control of drilling equipment, generator loads and carbon emissions.

CheckIt is a key product in our +veDRILL Enhance offering – making all checklists, maintenance and operational instructions available in a digital format. The Active Monitoring app ensures supervisors verify adherence to safe systems of work, and our e-TRIC app works with CheckIt to guarantee effective tool box talks.

Emissions Control

Carbon Emissions Monitoring (CEM) is our technology solution that allows for the calculation, in real time, of emissions from drilling equipment, to allow for the design and implementation of innovative reduction measures and activities.

On behalf of Equinor, we are delivering FEED through to engineering, procurement and installation of energy optimisation modifications including: the installation of SCR technology and software upgrades.

We are helping to decarbonise the German city of Bad Bentheim by 2035 by providing a carbon neutral supply of bio-compressed natural gas and renewable electricity to power public transport.

Clean Fuels

Through our industry partnerships, we are participating in the development of decentralised and containerised electrolyser solutions to support the production of green hydrogen.

Our engineering teams have designed a scalable modular offshore substation for the fixed and floating wind sector.

We are an active player in the onshore wind sector through the supply and manufacturing of ‘maxcap’ wind turbines.

Our Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a power management solution enabling rigs to run efficiently with fewer engines or lower engine loads – reducing engine runtime, diesel usage and carbon footprint.
